Obituary of Jasper Wilson
Jasper Clarence Wilson passed away on March 6, 2022, in South Bend, Indiana. He was born in Hardy, Arkansas, on September 9, 1926, to George Alexander and Ethel Anne (McKinney) Wilson.
On September 11, 1950, Jasper married Mary Elizabeth Berry in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and welcomed three children, Kathy, Debra, and Gary. Jasper was a man of great faith, a talented musician, loved others beyond measure, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was loved and admired by all who knew him and a friend to everyone he met. His family meant the world to him.
The family moved to Michigan in 1963, and became residents of Dowagiac, where he lived and worked most of his life.
Jasper is survived by his children, Kathy (Charlie) Dew, Debbie (Chuck) Chambliss, and Gary (Vickie) Wilson. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his grandchildren, Angelina, Ryan, Lezlie, John, Jason, Jordan, Ashley, Stacey, Kayla, Tyler, Hannah, and Amanda. along with seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and three sisters, Pearl (George) Lovell, Mary (Larry) Tinkey, and Louise Coffey, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, stepmother, six brothers, and three sisters.
A private family celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, 61453 M-51, Niles, Michigan with Reverend Tim Fletcher of Missional Chaplains’ Organization, Kalamazoo, Michigan officiating.
