Obituary of Berta Rodelo

Berta “Dolly” Rodelo, 78, of Niles, passed away at Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Dolly was born on July 31, 1943, to the late Anselmo Sr. and Jessie (Martinez) Rodelo in Los Angeles, California. Dolly was a faithful witness of Jehovah, she loved watching old movies, taught her family how to make homemade tortillas, and was a loved daughter, mother, sister, grandma, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anselmo Rodelo Sr. and Jessie Martinez Rodelo; and brothers, Anselmo Rodelo Jr., George Rodelo, and Carlos Rodelo. Dolly is survived by her sons, Lawrence “Larry” Ramirez of Niles and Nick (Lois) Ramirez of Niles; grandchildren, Caylean Ramirez and Nicholas (Ashley) Ramirez; siblings, Celia Geyer of Edwardsburg, Jamie “Mike” Rodelo of Arizona, Jamie (Connie) Rodelo of Arizona, Raul Rodelo of Santa Fe Springs, California, Hennrietta (Richard) Herrera of Hemmit, California, Yvonne (Benny) Rodriguez of Phoenix, Arizona, Jimmy (Dora) Rodelo of Chino, Arizona, and Lupe (Randy) Menefed of Wheeler, California; and many extended family members and close friends. In keeping with Dolly’s wishes, she has been cremated and her family will be remembering her privately. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Dolly’s name may do so to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 603 North 17th Street, Niles, MI 49120.
